Licensed Marriage & Family Therapist in Durham, North Carolina
I’m a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist originally from Utah, now living in Durham, North Carolina. I’m a wife and a proud dog mom to the most adorable 55-pound goldendoodle. I know that finding the right therapist matters more than almost anything else in your healing journey, so here’s a bit about me to help you decide whether we’d be a good fit.
I help individuals, couples, and families navigate conflict, communication and connection issues, anxiety, depression, OCD, eating disorders/body image concerns, trauma, and LGBTQ+ issues without judgement.
My Approach to Therapy
I approach therapy from a biopsychosocial perspective, recognising that we’re all interconnected with the people and systems around us. You don’t exist in isolation, and neither do the things you’re struggling with.
I love helping couples and families build healthier relationship patterns, because I believe relationships are the cornerstone of understanding and healing. My work is grounded in acceptance, compassion, curiosity, and honesty. I feel honoured and privileged to be a therapist, and I’m deeply committed to giving you a safe, supportive space to explore your thoughts, emotions, and experiences.
I believe growth and change only happen when we step outside our comfort zone, and I’ll help you do exactly that, gently and at a pace you can handle. Our sessions are collaborative conversations, not a couch and a clipboard. Whether we’re untangling a recurring argument, working through anxiety, building stronger family connection, or processing something painful from your past, you’ll be an active participant in the work.
lationships shape us. When the patterns inside them turn painful, they can also be where the deepest healing happens. I work with couples and families to understand the dynamics driving the conflict, improve how you communicate, and rebuild connection, whether you’re in crisis or simply want to feel closer.
Outside of the therapy room, I’m a wife and a devoted dog mom to my 55-pound goldendoodle. Life in Durham suits us. Staying grounded in my own life is part of what lets me show up fully for the people I work with.
Choosing a therapist is a personal decision, and I’d be honoured to help you explore your options. If you’d like to learn more about how I work, reach out for a free 20-minute consultation. I’m here to help you find the right path forward, even if that means pointing you toward another therapist who’s a better fit.
